8-Bit City recently declared that Metal Storm was the top underrated platformer of all time, and my copy of this issue is in even worse condition than the scan. This is also the issue with Adventure Island II, and probably one of the best Nintendo Power's of all time.
This spread features really cool handrawn backgrounds, and a strange action figure of the M-308 Gunner that they took pictures of and incorporated into the walkthrough.
The drawings are fewer, but much more interesting, and the advice in a few tough spots isn't that bad either! I learned a few Metal Storm techniques from this back in the early '90s.

Hell Yeah! MetalStorm is AWESOME! Dude, do you have the Maniac Mansion issue of NP? I loved that game as a kid....
Great to see Nintendo Power gave good attention to this overlooked game.
Your scans are good, too. I once tried to make a site full of scans of old Gamefan Magazine issues, but it was difficult getting the colors and sharpness right.
yea I didn't scan these things, but I do own all the old NP magazines.
